Ring Rivals

Created by OBGames

The OBGames catalogue is growing - In 2020 we launched Next Goal Wins and in 2023 Ring Rivals will join the gang! Ring Rivals is a quick-fire wrestling card game where the goal is to wipe out your rival’s stamina before pinning them. Play strategic move cards like the piledriver, devastating finishers like the liberty lock, or flair cards like tables, ladders and chairs. And bring all your rivals for triple threat, 4-way or tag team clashes.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Manufacturing Update #3
about 1 year ago – Mon, Mar 13, 2023 at 05:55:41 AM

Hey again, everyone!

Last time we had a breakdown of estimated dates for when we'd be getting our production sample and be ready to move all the mass produced copies around. As of right now, there are no major changes to the schedule, so just a short update this time around.

Manufacturing

Good news, a little while back we received the final production sample of Ring Rivals and signed off on going ahead with the dimensions of everything.

Old Sample - Left, New Sample - Right

We went over some of the changes we wanted to make in  Update #11. The major visible change is the increase in the size of the rulebook, which you can see fills out the box much more than before, has a considerably larger font size and has allowed for some more efficient text formatting in some places.

We're hoping to hear that the full mass production run is done in the next week or so at which point we'll be able to figure when we can get individual copies to people.

BackerKit

With the manufacturing phase nearing it's end, we'll soon need to lock in everyone's shipping details so that we know where to send everything.

We're planning to do this on Friday 17th March.

There are only a few backers left who haven't done this, so if you're one of them, or you want to make any changes to your shipping details, please do it as soon as possible!

Shortly after that, we'll be charging your cards to pay for the shipping costs and any additional add-ons your purchased through BackerKit.

We're planning to do this on Friday 24th March.

Again, please make sure that you haven't ordered anything you don't want and that the payment details you're using are still valid to be able to go through with this.

That's it for now - we're SO close to the finish line!

Manufacturing Update #2
about 1 year ago – Tue, Feb 07, 2023 at 09:32:44 AM

Hey again, everyone!

We hope the new year is treating you well.

Last time, we spoke about receiving our first sample of the production version of Ring Rivals.

Since then, due to the logistics and communication of refinement taking some time and Chinese New Year period on our manufacturers side however, we are a little behind schedule on starting the mass production run of manufacturing the games.

As a result, our expected delivery date will roll back a little too, but we do have a schedule estimate from our manufacturers for how things should go from this point assuming there are no major interruptions.

  • 24th February - We'll receive a final sample of the mass production run
  • 15th March - Products are fully assembled and ready to ship

With this, we imagine that we'll get everyone's copies out to them around April/May time. But as always we'll be watching the situation closely to try and make things move as efficiently as possible.

We'll be sure to update you towards the end of this month if all goes well.

Manufacturing Update #1
over 1 year ago – Wed, Dec 21, 2022 at 11:35:43 AM

Hey everyone!

As the update title implies, the manufacturing process for Ring Rivals has started. We recently received our first sample of the final product and after going over all the components and having a few practice rounds, we've ended up not needing to make too many adjustments to it.

In terms of the cards, we noticed one issue with one of the stamina cards having a slightly wrong image on its back, which was easily corrected by just updating the image and sending it back.

As for the box, we noticed that there's just a little bit of extra space than we need for all the components, so we've reduced it. It should avoid the internal components shuffling around a little bit too much, particularly once the cards are removed from the shrink wrap they come in.

Lastly, we've increased the size of the rule book so that it fills out the box more and also to help with the readability of everything. It'll still have all the same information in it of course, but we hope this helps.

If that all comes out well, we'll hopefully be able to get the final production run going quite soon.

In the meantime, there are still some backer survey responses that we haven't received yet. There's still some time before we lock in the shipping addresses that we've got, but we won't be able to get your copy of the game to you without an address. Check out Update #9 if you're unsure about what to do with those surveys.

We probably won't have another update for you before the new year, so take care of yourselves and we'll be seeing you in 2023!

Status Update #1: Backerkit and Promo Card Art!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Nov 17, 2022 at 04:57:04 PM

Hey again everyone!

It's nearly been a month since the end of the campaign now and we've been busy in the background getting things moving. Let's jump straight into the details.

Print & Play

We were planning to send out the Print & Play files alongside this update, but unfortunately we've run into an issue with the software that we use to make it. This has caused a slight delay but we will get the files to you as soon as possible. We will put out another update once we fix this issue and send the files.

Promo Card art update!

The newest Ring Rival wrestler, Big Benjamin's art has been completed. Here's a look at his design.

Here comes a new Rival!

For those of you who backed at the Championship Pack pledge tier, you'll be receiving the exclusive promo card featuring him.

BackerKit opens!

BackerKit (who we are using to manage your pledges) surveys have been sent out! We have also opened up a pre-order store through BackerKit, which can be accessed from here or the home page of our Kickstarter campaign, so if you have any  friends who missed out on the initial campaign, do direct them there!

You should all receive a survey email from us (OBGames), regarding your pledge. If you don't receive a survey email at all, use this link here and enter your email address to get it. The surveys won't be available forever, so please don't wait too long to get your details into there. Once manufacturing is finished, we won't be able to send you a copy if we don't know where to send it! Of course though, we'll be sure to remind you when we're close to cutoff date.

Through BackerKit you'll be able to pay for the shipping of your copy if you are receiving a physical edition, as was stated on our Kickstarter campaign, and you'll be able to purchase any add-ons you are interested in.

If you've used BackerKit before, this will hopefully all be fairly straight forward for you. However, for any first time backers, you may have some questions or be confused. Here are some screenshots just so you know what you should expect.

Step #1

Firstly, the email will look like this. Simply click on the button to be taken through to BackerKit.

Step #2

Next, you'll see a screen that looks like this. On the off chance something has gone wrong, please double-check the email address and pledge amount and pledge level on this page are what you would expect. If something is wrong, use the "Need help?" button to try and sort things out or get in contact with us if nothing seems to be working.

Step #3

Depending on your pledge level, this step will look different for different backers. However, all you need to do in any case is answer the questions that you see and then move onto the next step.

Step #4

Here you'll start by seeing the cost of your pledge level as well as the shipping cost of the pledge level on the right hand side of the screen.

You will now be able choose any additional add-ons you wish to purchase. Extra copies of the game, a custom playmat, wrestler posters and even a copy of our previous game Next Goal Wins if you'd like. Add any items you want to your cart and your basket will be updated automatically. If you don't wany add-ons, just hit the next button and move on the next page.

If you overpledged during the campaign, your additional funds can be used towards any add-ons. This is visible through the green 'credit remaining' section in your basket.

If your pledge included two copies of the game, this is done automatically and you don't need to select an extra one.

Step #5

Next up you'll need to enter the address of where you want everything to be shipped after which you'll be asked to confirm everything about your order. You won't be charged straight away for the order, but your confirmed order will now be visible to us.

And that's all for now. We've sent off the game asset files to our manufacturers so that they can produce a sample copy for us, so once we receive that and confirm everything looks good, we can get started with the production copies for all of you. We'll be sure to update you when that happens.

Thanks for the support, as always!
